Glow Lexicon exists because K-beauty ingredient marketing got ahead of K-beauty ingredient understanding. PDRN, collagen, NAD+ — every few months a new term takes over the feed, and every label reads like a chemistry exam crossed with a miracle claim. We translate the jargon into plain English, say honestly what each ingredient is and isn't, and then round up the routines and products built around them.

Our methodology

• Label research first. We read full ingredient lists (not just front-label marketing), map cosmetic names to their common names (sodium DNA = PDRN), and check how an ingredient is positioned across multiple products and brands.
• Cosmetic claims only. Skincare is cosmetics, so we talk about cosmetics: the appearance of skin, the look of firmness, hydration feel. We never claim a product reverses aging, repairs skin or DNA, eliminates wrinkles, or changes skin structure — and we're skeptical of brands that do.
• What we don't do. We don't run lab tests, clinical trials, or before-and-after photography. We don't publish invented prices or test results. When we don't know something, we say so rather than filling the gap.
• Ranked on merit. Our roundups rank by what's genuinely useful for the reader — format fit, label transparency, value per milliliter — never by commission rates. Read our affiliate disclosure.
• Re-checked regularly. Ingredient trends move fast; we review our guides and roundups quarterly and update the "last updated" line when we do.
